4th of July

To celebrate the 4th, we had a small BBQ down at the base of the George Washington Bridge, along the Hudson River. It was the perfect day to spend outside. Renato and I invited our neighbor Eva and her sister to join us, and, after scarfing burgers and bbq potato chips, we all preceded to nap. What a lively bunch! Here's the view from our blanket.

Although I've never read the kids book "The Little Red Lighthouse, and the Great Grey Bridge" I feel part ownership because we live so nearby the actual landmarks. Note to self: Buy this book.

Once a year the lighthouse is open to visitors, courtesy of Open House New York, where historical landmarks are open for a short time to guests. One of these years I'll get inside that cute little lighthouse.

Summer '08

I experienced the Hamptons for the first time this summer, staying with a family friend. And I must say, it really lived up to it's reputation. Though it would have been a whole lot more fun if I had a super pimped out ride, or some hot party to go to. Oh well, I came home with a tan, so that's all that matters.

Central Park

Renato and I went to the preview days at the U.S. Open. We saw a lot of cheezy visors and mini skirts. Oh, and a little tennis too.
